Cristiana will  get you learning the right way and once you’ve mastered the basics, there are plenty of options to progress. Lessons are conducted on the calm waters at the Marina for beginners while advanced level classes can paddle out on the ocean.

Why have lessons?

Getting paddling on a SUP board is relatively easy, but like most sports, the important thing is to get started with the right technique.

Good quality lessons will ensure that you learn on the right equipment for your skill level and get used to the correct stroke technique. This avoids injuries further down the track and means that you progress rapidly to the next level so that you’ll get maximum enjoyment out of the sport.

Once you’re ready to take it further, Cristiana will get you pumping in the PaddleFit classes, where you’re guaranteed to improve your fitness, advance your paddling skills and enjoy the outdoors while you’re at it.

For intermediate and advanced paddlers the SUP Downwind is the most thrilling way to experience SUP. This is the most exciting aspect of SUP where you get to glide with the wind and the ocean swell along our awesome coastline.

Stand Up Paddle Perth also offers school holiday programs for kids and teens, as well as special events scheduled throughout the year.

Perth SUP Yoga

New to Stand Up Paddle Perth are the SUP Yoga lessons.  This is a surprisingly fantastic way to enjoy the benefits of yoga with the water, fresh air and rocking motion providing a calming effect.

With SUP Yoga the board becomes a floating yoga mat and provides extra benefits as your core is working harder to keep your body stable. For yoga practitioners, SUP Yoga is great way to add a new dimension to your regular yoga sessions and will challenge you in a new way.

If you don’t have your own board, there are limited boards that can be rented for the SUP Yoga sessions with prior notice.

Stand Up Paddle Perth is located at 29 Rosslare Promenade in Mindarie.

I really enjoyed SUP, it is great to be up so high looking down on the marine life. Don’t know if I would be game enough to try yoga!

I was a bit skeptical about SUP yoga but I was surprised at how good it is. The water is really soothing, you get to be outside and the board gives quite a lot of stability so you should be able to stay dry.
