Coronation Beach is a campsite located about 35km north of Geraldton. It’s also one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots in WA – since it’s my favourite spot I’m more inclined to say that it’s the best in the world.

Lake Leschenaultia is a perfect outing for a picnic with plenty of shaded areas, BBQ facilities, a swimming beach with pontoon, canoe hire and walking and cycle trails. To clarify, I’ve only ever made the trip to Gnaraloo 3 Mile Camp in the scorching January heat, when the southerly blows hard enough to keep everyone but the most dedicated European wind and kitesurfers far away.
